Road test

Plenty of road tests end before the car leaves the parking lot because of a missing document or a burned-out brake light. Use this list the night before.
Documents to bring
Your learner license or current ID
Proof of insurance for the car you’re testing in
Current vehicle registration
Your driver education certificate of completion
Your Impact Texas Drivers certificate, if your state rules require it
Check the car
Both turn signals, front and back
Brake lights and headlights
Horn and seat belts
No warning lights on the dashboard
A clean windshield and mirrors you’ve adjusted
On the day
Eat something, arrive 30 minutes early and take a short warm-up drive if you can. During the test, exaggerate your mirror and shoulder checks slightly so the examiner sees them.
Rules and required documents change, so confirm the current list with the state before your appointment.
