What you’ll learn
Adult Driver Ed is built for people with full lives: finish the online course in an evening or two, then book lessons around work. Most adults need fewer hours than they fear.
Texas rules of the road and what the knowledge test covers
Smooth braking, steering and lane position
Right turns, left turns and unprotected intersections
Parking, reversing and tight spaces
Highway driving once city streets feel easy
If you’re between 18 and 24, Texas requires an approved adult course before your first license. If you’re 25 or older it’s optional, but the lessons are where the confidence comes from.
What’s included
State-approved six-hour online adult course
A first lesson that starts wherever you are, even an empty lot
Pickup from home or work in central Austin
A written skills checklist after each lesson
Questions
I’m 30 and have never driven. Is that unusual?
Not at all. We teach adult first-timers every week, and nobody here will rush you.
Do I need the six-hour course?
First-time applicants aged 18 to 24 need an approved adult course in Texas. At 25 or older it’s optional.
How many lessons will I need?
Most adults book the Confidence 5-pack, then decide. Your instructor will tell you honestly when you’re ready to test.
